A giant MAHALO to all our customers for supporting us, local agriculture, and organic farming.
GROW YOUR OWN GOATS!!
It’s kidding time at the dairy from January through May every year. Cute as they are, we can’t keep them all. We sell baby goats at very cheap prices to folks who want the fun of raising them at home. They make wonderful pets, companions, and land maintenance livestock. They only require a good, secure fence; dry, modest housing; ample grazing; and fresh water.
Do you want your own milk or meat supply that is guaranteed to be free from hormones and anti-biotics? Raise it yourself. There is no animal that can serve as many ways as our versatile friends, the goats. Call Louisa: 828-0095.
Last fall, in conjunction with the Kauai University of Hawaii Extension Service, Kauai Kunana Dairy hosted a Basic Goat-keeping Workshop. Another is planned for the spring. Below are photos from the workshop which had more than 30 participants.

Louisa gives hands-on demo at the workshop.

Young & old enjoyed the day learning about the wonders of goats!

In 2009 Kauai Kunana Dairy received an award in the Grower Category for the Third Annual Kaua`i Green Business Initiative Awards presented by the Kauai Rotary Club. This award was given as a recognition of our green and sustainable practices. These practice include the recycling of our cardboard boxes into our gardens for weed suppression. We also make our own mulch from tree trimmings and other green waste. We make 80% of our own fertilizer by composting the goat and chicken manure on our farm. We no longer buy plastic shopping bags for the farmers’ markets. We encourage customers to bring their own shopping bags. Come take a tour of our farm to learn about these sustainable practices and other ways in which we strive to make our farm and our lifestyle more earth friendly.
